Bonsai,
2016-2022

An interesting “bonsai sculpture” not only involves the structure and layering of the plant's branches and foliage, but also requires the selection of appropriate stands and pots to achieve a harmonious balance between form, space, and artistic expression. I believe painting shares a similar concept. This idea inspired me to combine bonsai, which can be found anywhere, with painting, in an attempt to create a painted installation piece that can be viewed from multiple perspectives.

I transformed the original plant stands into objects for painting, applying various colors to the stands, which are interspersed among the leaves and foliage. I tried to find a sense of harmony within natural poses. At first glance, it may appear to contradict natural principles as a bonsai creation, but over time, the natural growth of the plants and the artificially arranged painting stands can coexist in a way that surpasses expectations. Gradually, they form a unique landscape of their own.
