In the city, construction fences are fascinating to me because they always delineate the boundary between public and private spaces. They are typically towering and seemingly boundless, leaving me curious about what lies on the other side. It seems we can only explore the other side through imagination, akin to the intricacies of human thoughts.
This piece is my self-portrait, meticulously crafted to match my contours and dimensions, using photographic paper featuring rusted construction fences captured on the streets of Taipei. Near the heart area, layers of curled photographic paper conceal an image of a rusty lock. I’ve named it “A little rusty girl”.
